Trade Waste

Legal Obligations to Recycle

Legislation places a legal obligation on waste producers to ensure only pre-treated waste is sent to landfill.

This means that businesses now have a legal duty to implement waste segregation routines. For most businesses a good option is to separate recyclables from non recyclables.

Further legislation which came into force on 1st January 2015 requires waste paper, plastic, metal and glass to be separately collected from your general waste.

Therefore, as a waste producer, you must take all reasonable steps to recycle as much of your waste as possible in line with the changes.

Unless you separate and recycle your waste at source, we will be unable to legally accept your waste.
