What is the Childcare Offer?

The Childcare Offer is 30 hours a week of government funded early education and childcare for eligible working parents of three and four-year-olds for up to 48 weeks of the year.

It consists of up to 20 hours of government funded childcare during term time in addition to the 10 hours already provided by the Foundation Phase every week. During up to 9 weeks of school holidays, parents will be able to access up to 30 hours of funded childcare. See table below:

Eligible parents are able to choose up to two registered childcare setting/s that suits their personal and family circumstance, whether inside or outside of county, in agreement with the provider and the local authority.

Eligible children will be able to access the offer from the beginning of the term following their third birthday until the term following their fourth birthday when they begin full-time education.    

In Pembrokeshire, we offer 10 hours of FPN (Foundation Phase Nursery) and so eligible children will be able to receive an additional 20 hours of Government funded childcare per week.
