Test, Trace, Protect is the Welsh Government's strategy for testing the general public and tracing the spread of coronavirus in Wales.
Contact tracing is part of this strategy. It's a tried and tested method of controlling the spread of infectious diseases.
Tracing the people an infected person has been in contact with enables those people to be made aware of their potential risk of being infected and they can get advice to prevent further spread. Testing and contact tracing will be vital to enable our communities to live alongside the virus for the foreseeable future.
The Test, Trace, Protect strategy involves a number of partners working together to help contain the spread of the virus, this includes Public Health Wales, Local Health Boards, Local Authorities in Wales, NHS Wales Informatics Service (NWIS) and others. Within our region we are working alongside Hywel Dda University Health Board, Ceredigion County Council and Carmarthenshire County Council.
