Community Transport

To help combat the problems of social exclusion and to encourage a shift from private transport, the Council is well aware that people in rural and isolated areas require more opportunities to use public transport. This may be either by better access to existing services or by the provision of new and innovative services.

With this in mind, the Authority has developed and supports a number of community transport initiatives for people who have difficulty in accessing conventional public transport. This support has included the provision of funding for a dedicated community transport website PACTO
