Learn drawing, painting and observation skills. The aim of this course is to introduce and engage students with a range of activities involving painting and drawing. Content of courses vary depending on the tutor delivering the course, but generally drawing could cover the use of pencil, pastel, charcoal, pen and ink, etc. Painting could cover the use of oil, acrylic, water colour and mixed media. Themes are often included as specific focus e.g. landscape, seascape, still life, animals, flowers, portrait and figures, architecture, etc. Specific information on course content is available from the centre administering the course.

Food Allergen Management for Caterers

This qualification covers: the different roles in ensuring that food ingredients and allergens are effectively managed; common allergens and intolerances; procedures relating to the accurate communication of ingredient information, from supplier to consumer; hygiene considerations with regard to allergen and ingredient control; and procedures relating to the control of contamination and cross-contamination of allergenic ingredients.

Subjects covered on this course include types of substance misuse, signs, symptoms and their effects. The reasons people misuse substances, misleading signs and symptoms, the effects on society, and gaining support and advice.

This course will look at how to get started with the tablet, how to download and use apps, books, games, browse the web, check and write emails. This course covers how to protect privacy and other security features.

Using your tablet creatively

This course will cover taking photos and movies using the built in camera.  You will learn how to edit your photos using the built in tablet features such as crop, rotate and enhance and how to delete unwanted photos and movies.  You will also be shown how to search and download various creative apps and apply different effects to your photos as well as creating a collage of photos using images, backgrounds, borders and text.  The course will also cover how to share your photos, movies and your creative works of art and look at options for printing.
