Regional Safeguarding Children and Adults Boards are established as per part 7 of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014, and have replaced Local Safeguarding Children Boards.
Pembrokeshire hosts, and is a key member of, the regional Mid and West Wales Safeguarding Board, along with Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Powys.
The regional purpose is to co-ordinate the strategic direction, collaboration, consistency and improvement of practice across the region. Amongst its many other important safeguarding functions and duties, the Board also formally publishes Child and Adult Practice Reviews.
Locally, Pembrokeshire coordinates safeguarding via the multi-agency Local Operational Group.
