Our Key Themes

The five key themes covered by the strategy are:

Theme 1 - Consultation and Working in Partnership

Aim: To consult, observe, involve and work in partnership with children and young people and other agencies, stakeholders and local communities in the planning and delivery of the strategy and play services.

Theme 2 - Encouraging more Play Provision

Aim: To ensure that high quality, appropriate, accessible and resourced local play opportunities are available for children and young people within Pembrokeshire

Theme 3 - Play in Schools

Aim: To ensure that consideration is given to providing and developing rich play environments that best meet the play needs of children and young people in Pembrokeshire within the school environments, both during school hours and out of school hours.

Theme 4 - Play in your Community

Aim: To ensure that consideration is given to local needs particularly in relation to new developments and the enhancement and improvement of existing play facilities.

Theme 5 - Actively Promote Play in a Positive Way

Aim: To raise the profile of play and promote the importance of play for children and young people’s development.
