There are 58 primary schools, 8 secondary schools and 1 special school maintained by Pembrokeshire County Council. These provide education for more than 18,300 pupils.
Schools work on a ‘Cluster of Schools' basis and there is close co-operation between them. The cluster is made up of a secondary school and the partner or feeder primary schools. The aim of the Cluster of Schools model is to strengthen links between schools in a way that ensures progression, continuity and support for pupils as they move through the different stages of their education.
Children normally transfer to the link school within the Cluster of Schools, but pupils who do not attend their catchment area primary school will be offered a place at the designated secondary school serving their home address. Further information about Clusters of Schools is available from schools or the Admissions Officer.
