Summer Reading Challenge 2019
Join the Space Chase this summer!
If you’re on the lookout for fun, free activities for your children to do over the summer holidays - then why not take part in the 2019 Summer Reading Challenge?
Every year, thousands of families all over the country take part in the challenge - the UK’s biggest reading event for children in libraries.
The aim is to encourage children between the ages of four and eleven to read six books from their local library during the summer holidays, with lots of fun and rewards along the way.
The theme of this year’s Reading Challenge is Space Chase, an out-of-this-world adventure inspired by the 50thanniversary of the first moon landing.
Children will solve clues and collect special stickers to complete their mission folder, helping the super space family track down books nabbed by mischievous aliens!
FREE storytime and activity sessions will be taking place every Thursday (10:30am-11:30am) from Thursday 1st August to Thursday 29th August.
Places are limited so booking in advance is essential. To book, please contact the library the day before the session (from 10am) on 01437 775825.
