SEN Statementing Process

All schools can provide children with additional learning needs a great deal of support from their own resources. Though some children with more severe or complex needs might need more assistance than the school can provide. For these children and young people, support from specialist services may also be provided. For a small number of children, a statutory assessment is carried out to establish their more complex needs. This may lead to a statement of special educational needs which will outline the support and school placement of the child or young person.
