The LDP Preferred Strategy has been screened to determine whether there will be any likely significant effects on European sites that have been designated for their wildlife and habitats (Natura 2000 sites). This process is part of the Habitats Regulations Appraisal (HRA). There are 21 Natura 2000 sites in Pembrokeshire or close to the boundary of the plan area to be considered. An example of a Natura 2000 site in Pembrokeshire is the Afon Cleddau SAC.
The HRA screening attempts to predict the potential effects of the LDP Preferred Strategy on Natura 2000 sites. There is some uncertainty whether the LDP may have a likely significant effect on Natura 2000 sites at this stage, therefore an Habitats Regulations Appraisal of the Deposit Plan will be carried out. The HRA will look at the plan in detail to assess the potential effects, both alone and in-combination with other plans and will identify any necessary changes to the plan to ensure that Natura 2000 sites are not impacted.
The statutory consultees will comment on the Habitats Regulations Appraisal.
Please note that the Screening Report is a technical document and is not subject to a public consultation and is provided in English only.
