How to pay your Council Tax

Set up or amend a Council Tax Direct Debit

The easiest and safest way to pay council tax is by Direct Debit.

Complete and submit the Direct Debit form and we will do the rest.

You will need the following items before you start:

  • Your Council Tax billing reference number
  • Your bank account number and sort code (you must be the holder of the bank account and authorised to set up a Direct Debit)

You can choose, from a selection of dates, when you would like the payment to be made each month and decide whether to spread the payment over 10 or 12 months

Before you set up or amend your Direct Debit, you will need to sign in or register for My Account – Your Online Council Account. This will allow you to keep track of all your communications with the council.
