Approval of Food Premises
What does approval mean?
Approved businesses will be given an Identification Number which is unique to their premises. This information will need to be included in an Identification Mark on product labels. The identification mark can be recognised across Europe as having been produced in a premises approved under EC legislation.
Approved premises have to comply with the same legislation that applies to all food businesses, but there may also be additional requirements to be met depending on the specific products that they deal with.
