Course aims and objectives:

END OF LIFE CLINICAL ISSUES 

Aims of the session are to

·         increase understanding  and recognition of when End of Life is occurring

·         explore and deepen understanding of clinical signs, (breathlessness, pain and agitation)

·         better understand clinical interventions to support patient and families

 

TALKING WITH PATIENTS AND FAMILIES AT THE END OF LIFE

 Aims of the session are to

·           encourage a professional conversation and sharing of good practice

·           explore issues such as anger, denial and grief

·           enable practitioners to better deal with difficult conversations

·           revisit the ‘CARE DECISIONS LAST DAYS OF LIFE’ documentation

·           explore the wider issues of decision making at the end of life
