Haverfordwest High VC School

Haverfordwest High VC School was established from 1st September 2018 as an 11-19 English medium school following the closure of Tasker Milward VC and Sir Thomas Picton Schools on 31 August 2018.

The school currently operates across the two sites of the former schools.

Pending business case approval from Welsh Government, the new school will be built on the former Sir Thomas Picton site.

On 26 July 2018 Council approved the recommendation of the Task and Finish Group for the preferred site of the New English Medium School in Haverfordwest to be the Sir Thomas Picton School Site.

As part of this overall project it is the Authority’s intention to de-cant the Prendergast Campus to the Tasker Milward school site (Portfield Campus) during the construction period of the new school.

As part of that exercise, additional accommodation and a revised traffic plan is required on the Portfield Campus. The project requires a pre planning consultation, following which a formal planning application will be deposited. It intended, subject to relevant approvals, to carry out the works during the summer break.
