Guides have been produced for two different age groups, under 8's and over 8's. We developed two separate guides because we felt that children under 8 would understand things better if they were explained through pictures, but children over 8 would prefer writing.
We have called the guides Care4U Guides, and they have been developed jointly with children and young people who are either still in, or have left care. This means that hopefully the information is more relevant to you, because it has been developed by children and young people in the same situations.
The Guides aim to tell you some of the things you need to know when you come into care. Coming into care may or may not be a good thing from your point of view, but we want you to know that we are here to look out for you and to help you. We want to listen to you and support you, but above all we want to make sure that you have all of the information that you need to be happy.
Please read through the relevant Guide below.
If you still have any questions that haven't been answered, please contact us, and we will try our best to answer any questions that you have.
