Visiting the Record Office in Person
There is no appointment system, but please bear in mind that the office can get very busy. You will need to produce an Archives Wales Readers Ticket if you wish to view original documents at the Record Office.
You may book a computer/microfilm/fiche reader in advance.
Topic lists are available, free of charge, on various topics at the office. Alternatively, veiw the downloadable versions of our User Guide and Topic Lists.
Motor Licence Transcripts - £2.00 on site, £3.00 per remote request.

Free access to Ancestry.com and Find My Past (pre booking this service is advisable)

Our experienced staff, using the archives and facilities available at the Record Office, may be able to help you with the following (relating to Pembrokeshire).

* Transcription and translation
The fee is £20 per hour (£30 for commerical companies). The price includes postage and any relevant copies of documents (where applicable).
All payments must be made in advance by cheque or Postal Order in £ Sterling, and made payable to "Pembrokeshire County Council". [It is currently not possible to pay by debit/credit card].
We normally suggest you begin with one hour's worth of research. If towards the end it looks like there is more to be discovered, our research staff will inform you in their reply.
Requests for research should be as specific as possible. The request must be accompanied by details of what you would like us to research, any relevant information you already have (including details of where your information came from), and any copies you may have
If your research enquiry involves house history, your request should be accompanied by details of the location of the property, either marked on a modern map or with a grid reference.
Letters, faxes and emails will be acknowledged within three working days. Where appropriate, the customer will be provided with a written response within 15 working days, or within 10 working days if there has been no earlier acknowledgment. This is in accordance with Pembrokeshire County Council Customer Charter Standards
We will make every effort to search for the required information in the allotted time. However, we cannot guarantee that our research will always produce positive results. Pembrokeshire Record Office cannot be responsible for errors or omissions.

We offer group visits to the office, usually during office hours on Tuesdays, when our reserach room is available to accomodate such visits - these are available at £20.00 per group. These focus on an introduction to Archives and include a tour behind the scenes and viewing of various archvies of interest.
