Cycling Strategy and National Cycle Network

Cycling is one of the easiest ways to fit exercise into your daily routine and it can double up as a form of cheap and environmentally friendly transport.

The Authority is encouraging cycling by:

  • Developing urban networks - establishing links from residential areas to town centres, employment centres, education and leisure centres, and transport interchanges to support utility cycling trips
  • Ensuring that new developments are integrated into existing networks and are taken into account when planning new routes
  • Delivering safe segregated on road and off road links extending and completing existing networks
  • Promoting rural routes opening up the countryside for cycling by residents and visitors. One method of marketing the routes is the Cycling Pembrokeshire website -  This includes details of both family cycle routes and longer touring routes around the County.
