Pembrokeshire has long been a magnet for artists, photographers, craftmakers, musicians, writers, choreographers, dramatists, filmakers and others in the creative industries. The 'pull' is the landscape, the light, the coast, the sea, the weather, the solitude, the ability to create work in a county so rich in the arts.
Artists, and others, set up small cultural businesses in the county enabling them to create, market and tour their work. Some open up their studios and workplaces, enabling the public, including tourists and visitors to see the creative process, observe the artist at work and buy work directly from the artist. Some people are convinced that we have more artists per acre, here in Pembrokeshire than anywhere else in the UK. Certainly the cultural economy is a significant part of the economic climate of the county.
Pembrokeshire County Council contributes to the many festivals events and projects.
