Fishguard Information Centre is situated at the Town Hall, in Market Square.

Fishguard is famous for the French Invasion in 1797, during which troops landed at Carregwastad two miles form Fishguard Town. Such was the resistance by local people the French soon surrendered.

The surrender treaty was signed at the Royal Oak pub opposite the Information Centre.

For a full account of the invasion, this exquisite Invasion tapestry is housed in its own gallery with in the library situated above the Information Centre. It is open all year round.

In the Town Hall is a thriving one day market, which is open from 8:00am to 4:00pm on Thursdays only. See Fishguard Market

Gifts & souvenirs can be purchased at the Information Centre, along with a wide range of services and free information.

Lower Town was the setting for the filming of Dylan Thomas "Under Milk Wood" staring Richard Burton, and some scenes from the film "Moby Dick." A member of our staff appeared in Under Milk Wood.

Six weeks Summer holidays: Sunday: 10:00am - 4:00pm

Winter: November until end of March
Monday - Friday 10:00am to 4:00pm
Saturday: 10:00am - 1:00pm
