The new Local Studies section at Pembrokeshire Archives, the centre which cares for the county's written culture, history and heritage, was one of main attractions for members of Pembrokeshire U3A recently.
The Family History Group was enjoying a visit to the Archives and Local Studies recently, which included a talk and the chance to view some of the conservation work which goes on behind the scenes.
They also looked at some of the books, maps, photos and school records which are housed in the Archives and also the online resources available to researchers.
Based at the Pembrokeshire Archives building in Prendergast, staff are always happy to welcome new visitors who would like to start doing their own research or would simply like to browse the local history books or old newspapers.
Details of opening hours, location, readers' tickets, scale of charges and other information can be found on its website www.pembrokeshire.gov.uk/archives
