Council tax - exempt properties

Full exemption from Council Tax may apply to a domestic property in certain circumstances. If you wish to apply for this exemption you will need to indicate the Class into which the property falls.

Use this form to apply for exemption from Council Tax on a domestic property that is unoccupied, substantially unfurnished and requires, is undergoing or had undergone, major repair work or structural alterations in order to render it habitable.

Changes of circumstance
If you are successful in claiming a exemption but circumstances then change you must inform the Council within 21 days of the change. Failure to do this may lead to a fine or penalty.
