Archives at the County Records Office

You can expect:

  • facilities for study and research;
  • a study area to be provided where you can have access to records under the supervision of a professionally trained archivist;
  • that we will deliver records for public inspection without undue delay. Should you visit the record office, you will not wait for more than 5 minutes for the items you require unless they are already in use.

Archives Opening Times

First Monday in the month : 10am - 4.45pm
Monday–Thursday : 9.00am - 4.45pm
Friday : 9.00am - 4.15pm
First Saturday morning in the month :
(except Bank Holiday weekends) 9.30am – 12.30pm

On all days last documents are produced 15 minutes before closing time.

Archives Charges

Research Fees : £15.00 per hour
Photocopies : A4 - 10p
Photocopies : A3 - 20p
Microfilm Prints : A4 - 50p
