Ironman Wales 2011
Approximately 1,300 athletes, representing more than 43 countries, lined up to tackle the Ironman Wales event in Pembrokeshire.

The bike course is a two loop course totalling 180 kilometres (112 miles) around South Pembrokeshire. The course follows spectacular coastal roads for much of the way, and passes through picturesque villages and towns.

Starting at the seaside town of Tenby, the course heads west to Pembroke and then onto the Angle peninsular. The course follows a different route back to Pembroke, onto Sageston, and then turns northeast and through the town of Narberth
From Narberth the course heads out east to Tavernspite before heading South through the village of Saundersfoot before returning to Tenby.
