Poetry-lovers in Pembrokeshire are looking forward to welcoming poet Susan Richardson to Haverfordwest Library on April 13th where she will be performing a selection of her own poetry.
Susan Richardson was due to perform at the Library in January, but her visit was cancelled due to the snow.
The evening forms part of ‘What Poetry', a series of poetry readings at Haverfordwest Library.
Susan Richardson's collection of poetry, ‘Creatures of the Intertidal Zone' was inspired by her journey through Iceland, Greenland and Newfoundland in the footsteps of an intrepid 11th century female Viking.
She is currently collaborating with a visual artist on with a joint collection of poetry and prints, entitled Up Where the Air is Rarefied.
A regular contributor to literary festivals, Susan is one of the residents poets on BBC Radio 4's ‘Saturday Live' and was poet-in-residence last year for BBC2's coverage of the Chelsea Flower Show.
Her performance at Haverfordwest on Tuesday April 13th will replace the "Poems of Travel" theme in the programme.
‘What poetry' is a free event and everyone is welcome. No experience is required.
There are two other free poetry groups in Pembrokeshire, ‘Poetry Can' at Milford Haven library, and ‘Poetry Allowed' at Fishguard Library.
