Spinning yarns for world book day

Melissa Holloway

Story tales from around the world will help a Pembrokeshire Library celebrate World Book Day this year.

Story teller Melissa Holloway will be weaving a web of traditional and modern stories at Tenby Library on Wednesday March 3rd.

The experienced story teller, who is originally from South Africa and now lives in the Preselis, has been spinning yarns for children and adults since 2002.

Held this year on March 4th, World Book Day is the biggest annual event celebrating books and reading across the globe and is now celebrated in over 30 countries.

To mark the event, Pembrokeshire County Council's Library Service will be hosting story telling sessions for school pupils throughout the week at libraries in Fishguard, Pembroke Dock and Milford Haven.

The Tenby library story-telling session takes place from 6.30pm until 8.30pm and is suitable for adults and younger children.

Although admission is free is it advised to book a place in advance. Contact the library on 01834 843934.

Pembrokeshire's celebrations have been made possible by a grant from the Welsh Books Council, which helps libraries celebrate the day in their own area.
