Haiti Rescuers at County Hall

The Chairman of Pembrokeshire County Council will tomorrow night (Thursday, 18th February) pay tribute to the work of three firefighters from Pembrokeshire who travelled to Haiti to be part of the rescue operation in the wake of that country's devastating earthquake.

Pembroke Dock station watch manager Gerwyn Howells; Haverfordwest crew manager Phil Irving and firefighter Paul Dyson from Pembroke Dock will be the guests of Councillor Anne Hughes at a reception in the Chairman's Suite at County Hall in Haverfordwest.

The trio were part of a seven-strong team flown out to the Caribbean island by the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service

They went to work as soon as they got there and were immediately involved in the rescue of a two-year-old girl from the rubble.

Also invited to the function is Chief Fire Officer Richard Smith and Pembrokeshire Commander Nick Webley.
